Tharp Family

There does not seem to be much available on the Internet regarding my Tharp family.  Most of the information in these pages comes from family members over the past 70 years and focuses on their life in Callaway County, Missouri.  I spent a day in Fulton, Missouri, at the library and found some newspaper articles with data.  I need to go back and spend some time in the courthouse as well.

Reason and his sons, Elias and James, seem to have been farmers and raised tobacco along with cattle, hogs and crops.  Although some in Missouri had slaves, there are none recorded for these Tharps.  The girls in the families, Orynthia and Arabella, married well and were apparently highly regarded in the Readsville community.
